Simone Micheli was born in Tuscany, in 1964, to Massimo, a painter, and Cristiana, an art teacher. A graduate of the Faculty of Architecture of Florence University, during his academic years he met important mentors such as Giovanni Klaus Koenig (his thesis advisor), Giovanni Michelucci and Bruno Zevi, with whom he worked at the outset of the unconventional career path that links his earliest training to his professional practice today. In 1990 he founded the the architectural office that bears his name, and in 2003, the architecture and design firm, Simone Micheli Architectural Hero, based in Florence and Milan. From 2003 to 2009 he taught at the Florence Faculty of Architecture; he has also taught at Polidesign and at the Milan Polytechnic School of Design since 2003. His professional practice has taken him in multiple directions: from architecture to interior design, and from industrial design to visual design by way of communications. His creations, sustainable and always environmentally conscious, are characterized by strong identity and uniqueness. The numerous projects he has carried out for local government bodies and major private patrons active in residential and community building have made him one of themain players in the field of architectural design in Europe.
