After graduating from the Royal College of Art, in London, Marre Moerel moved to New York, where she lived for ten years, working as an artist, free-lance designer and lecturer at the Parsons School of Design.
A cosmopolitan globetrotter, she has always been open to contamination from different cultures and places. In 2003, Moerel moved to Madrid, where she founded her own studio.
Her aim is to create contemporary objects with a timeless allure, where current cultural references are blended with historic and traditional influences.
Through the art of handcrafted ceramics, Moerel expresses her personal concept of beauty: a sinuous sensation that is tactile and material, which encompasses the full emotional potential of each project.
Moerel has always worked with numerous design companies. Her collaboration with Cappellini has continued for years, with whom she produces the Ceramic Light candle holders.
Marre Moerel’s works have been published in numerous important trade publications and exhibited in internationally acclaimed museums and trade shows.
