DB is a screen system that serves as a cautious landscape in an open office environment designed to allow people working there to live. Thomas Bernstrand designed dB to impress people on their surroundings - to make individuals co-creators. Therefore, the screen can be decorated in any fabric. This series includes whiteboard screens, announcement cork screens, and a series of ingenious accessories to accommodate photos, magazines and other personal items. Bernstrand's reputation pranks as a designer take the form of an optional flowerpot, unbelievably balanced on the top edge of the dB screen. The dB includes an adjustable height table with a soundproof Strata desktop.
Certain designers never fail to create self-evident things – objects that appear as though they have merely been nudged toward their natural form. Nina Jobs is one of those designers. Nothing is ever missing, nor is any feature ever superfluous. Naturally, this goes for every product she has designed for Abstracta.
Jobs is based in Stockholm and has an international clientele. She began her career as a graphic designer before being drawn to three-dimensional objects, whereupon she moved to Paris to study product design at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs.
