Since establishing their Copenhagen design studio in 2000, Flemming Busk and Stephan B. Hertzog have made their name in the design world, winning numerous major international a wards. Most recently the pair were last year awarded the Danish Design Prize – an award previously won by Arne Jacobsen, Paul Kjaerholm, Hans Wegner, and Verner Panton. The pair draw obvious inspiration from the shapes and forms of nature– a perfect example of this can be seen in their ‘Wishbone’ stand [pictured below] resembling a small grove of saplings. Their designs exemplify the new wave of Danish designers making a name for themselves internationally and at home, where Denmark’s ‘golden age’ of design, from the likes of Fritz Hansen and Kjærholm, continue to hold great influence. Busk and Hertzog will be guests of honour at two luncheons to be held in Melbourne and Sydney next week. “This is an unprecedented opportunity to ask such successful design luminaries all the things that you ever wanted to know,” says Scul.
