Richard G.J.Hutten is a Dutch designer.Hutten started his own design studio in 1991 in Rotterdam after graduating from the Design Academy Eindhoven.Hutten's work is part of the permanent collections of the Centraal Museum Utrecht, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam,the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein,and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.Philippe Starck used some of Huttens designs for the interiors of the Delano Hotel Miami and the Mondrian Hotel Los Angeles.His work has also been exhibited in Milan,Cologne,Paris,London,Berlin,Weimar,Toronto,Ghent, Verona,Amsterdam,Rotterdam,Utrecht,Den Bosch,Breda,New York,Copenhagen, Helsinki, Bremen,Montreal,Tokyo,Osaka,Stuttgart and San Francisco.
Founded in 2001 by complementing personalities Marcel Wanders and Casper Vissers, Moooi is named after the native Dutch word for “beautiful”. According to the company, “the third ‘o’ in the brand name stands for an extra value in terms of beauty & uniqueness.” In additon to Wanders’ work, Moooi has produced work from Bertjan Pot, Maarten Baas, Ross Lovegrove and Studio Job. Ultimately, Wanders is responsible for the overall design selection process.
