hayon x nani rug
Design Jaime Hayon,

The perfect gift for a 30-year milestone, the Hayon x Nani is a dreamy, wild collection with a great sense of humour.
Created with the hand tufting technique, a manually operated pistol injects pieces of wool, intuitive and fluid lines are achieved, as well as an organic composition. The definitive and faithful reproduction of the original sketch by the designer.
A first glance reveals a chaotic tangle of colours and shapes that invade the rug. However, after looking carefully, the imagination of Jaime Hayon springs to life: turtles, lips, hands, stools, fish, half men – half birds…

With a foundation in skateboarding and graffiti art, Jaime Hayon studied industrial design in Madrid and Paris. He continued his education in 1997 at Fabrica, a design and communication academy founded by Benetton, where he had the opportunity to work with Oliviero Toscani. He also studied in the first class of the IED Industrial Design course in Madrid. Fifteen years later, Hayon is the director of the Master of European Design Labs of IED Madrid. Hayon’s work mixes art and design; his industrial design often maintains a craft base. Now internationally known, he has completed projects worldwide.
Driven by a singular desire and a very creative background, Nani established nanimarquina in 1987 with a clear goal: to design unique and surprising handcrafted rugs for people to enjoy.
The idea of blending contemporary design to traditional rugs was well received and soon nanimarquina embarked on the adventure of outsourcing production to those countries that offered cultural value and unlimited possibilities for rug craftsmanship.
