Decomposition of colour. The graphic artist who designed this collection bases his work on the decomposition of colour through pixels, a technique that has been applied to the design of sofas, cushions, shirts…
Now he embodies his special vision in these two rugs made from hand knotted wool, one in vibrant colours, the other in more gentle tones.
Both rugs have their source in photographic enlargement, giving the pieces a digital and technological look.
Depending on the light or time of day, a glance captures the random union of one part of the 26 colours that make up the rug, always creating stunning groupings that are surprising to the eye; really shocking optical effects.

Cristian Zuzunaga was born in 1978 in Barcelona. Zuzunaga studied a BA in Typo/Graphic Design at the London College of Communication, followed by an MA at the Royal College of Art. He is currently working on a number of artistic and design-led projects and collaborations.
Driven by a singular desire and a very creative background, Nani established nanimarquina in 1987 with a clear goal: to design unique and surprising handcrafted rugs for people to enjoy.
The idea of blending contemporary design to traditional rugs was well received and soon nanimarquina embarked on the adventure of outsourcing production to those countries that offered cultural value and unlimited possibilities for rug craftsmanship.
