Kay Bojesen's Monkey was born in 1951. A little Monkey with the great personality which has come to signify a gift from a very special person. For christenings, birthdays, school leavers and weddings. A classic and a dear friend for life – from being a popular toy in the playroom to a much-loved design icon in a future home.In working with beloved design classics, we are upholding a design heritage that demands integrity in every aspect of the product. That means we have a strong focus on using sustainable wood to produce our monkeys.The monkey is made from plantation teak – as a sustainable alternative to natural forest teak. This ensures responsible harvesting and better living conditions for the local people living near the plantations all over the world.

Kay Bojesen (15 August 1886 – 28 August 1958) was a Danish silversmith and designer. He is best known for creating wooden animels, especially his wooden monkey which was exhibited at the Victoria and Albert museum in London in the nineteen-fifties, and which today is considered a design classic.
