The sofa system Carmel, design Jean-Marie Massaud, recalls an archetype of upholstered furniture, with wide and soft proportions, made lighter by the feet of minimum thickness. The sofas and armchairs collection: in the living area there is a full coherence between modular systems, complements and the elements dedicated to comfort. Collaborating with prestigious international designers, Poliform completes its offer with a variety of proposals that underline versatility. A series of different armchairs and sofas, able to explore a wide range of aesthetical approaches and to become part of a full “Home project”, where every piece of furniture matches with the other, in a highly harmonious interior design project. Finishing: Structure in moulded flexible polyurethane. Feet: in painted bronze aluminium or covered in leather. Precovering:polyester padding. Final covering: stretched version removable in fabric and non removable inleather; slipcover version removable in fabric (except velvet).For the armchair, the optional rear pocket is not available in the version with slipcover.

Jean-Marie Massaud is born in Toulouse France,in 1966. He graduate at Les Ateliers, Ecole Nationale Superieure de Creation Industrielle,Paris France,in 1990.Since then he has been working for several design agencies in Asia and France.In 1994 he created his own studio in Paris,concentrating on industrial and interior design for European and Japanes companies including Yves Saint Laurent,Renault,Cappellini and Magis.He is now developing in association with Daniel Pouzet an architect activity for private and public partners.At the Ecole Nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs in Paris,he teaches contextual approach – focused on the individual through a research of essential–his work sustains the quest of sens,magic and vital emotions.Some of his creations have been awarded while some othes belong to design collections such Amsterdam,Chicago,London,Lisbonne,Paris and Zurich′s museums.
