Furniture desginer Ib Kofod-Larsen's furniture from the 1950's and 60's are today more desirable than ever before. Danish Kofod-Larsen designed storage and seating for the Swedish market in the 60's but did not really reach any commercial success. Maybe his organic design was to extreme for the Swedish taste at the time.In Denmark, on the contrary, his sideboards produced by Faarup won immediate recognition. Today his creations are sold at higher and higher prices,as his clean designs, often in beautiful rosewood or palisander, have become highly appreciated by a global community of design enthusiasts.

The Danish design, the Japanese manufacturer, established the two-point Danish furniture brand KITANI in 1967. From the production of polyurethane foam processing and chair decoration to the production of furniture for hotels, restaurants and elderly welfare facilities, ordered in 1990. At that time, almost all the furniture of welfare facilities were imported from northern Europe. Their sophisticated design and lightweight construction are not easy to replicate, so there is an urgent need to acquire technology that is both functional and capable of meeting the needs of customers. It was at this point that in 1994, KITANI entered the Danish furniture market through the production of furniture for welfare facilities.
In 2001, Kitani hosted the “Wisdom Revival”, a Danish national exhibition that showcases the structure used in Nordic furniture.
Kitani has been recognized by Danish furniture manufacturers Larsen, Ib Kofod-Larsen, Jacob Kjaer, Finn Juhl, Sigurd Resell, Nanna Ditzel and Bent Andersen, and has won 33 productions by 2015. Furniture production is done in Japan.
The soul of Danish design, the quality of Made in Japan, Kitan furniture can stand the test of time and will continue to attract people's hearts. We have experienced Japanese craftsmen who have a long tradition of rigor in Japan and are constantly striving to incorporate refined design into new aspects.
